When looking for a good EQ, I was already familiar with Summit gear, so I bought a used Summit EQF-100. This is a single channel 4 band unit with high pass and low pass filters. Each of the bands has seven selectable frequencies and the filters each have three frequencies. I have found that this setup allows for great flexibility, you can focus on pretty much any area you want. I don’t think more are made, but they are sometimes seen on eBay. Mine is from the late nineties. While it may not be common practice, I do use my unit while tracking. My stuff is acoustic country and I’m always looking for “warm” sounds for ballads and focused, crisp sounds for rhythm. So I don’t use the Softube Summit Audio EQF-100 Crack during mixing or mastering, leaving it to my producer (who recently noticed that he hardly ever adds EQ to my tracks) instead. In any case, all that being said, I love this unit, I can’t say enough about it. Since monitoring with EQ can be tricky, it took me a while to get comfortable, but now I can’t imagine not having mine on the shelf. There are so many applications that I cannot cover them all here. But a couple of examples are: taming the thin high frequencies on my TLM 103 mic to sound absolutely beautiful; “enriching” the bass on my baritone guitar (actually probably any instrument), cranking frequencies for a lead instrument into songs that contain repeating arpeggios, etc., and so on.
Pretty much if a particular sound isn’t to your liking or isn’t right during pre-recording practice sessions, the EQF-100 gets busy. I understand that these are older units and not for everyone. But initially when I bought it I thought a single track was all I needed, but now I’m thinking of getting another one. If you find one in good condition, I highly recommend it. Summit Audio is known in the US and beyond for its high-end hardware. Fortunately, however, Summit Audio’s sound isn’t limited to hardware – Softube has introduced a range of Summit Audio emulators that you can take with you on the go. The one we’re looking at today is the Softube Summit Audio EQF-100, a 4-band valve compressor that resembles the hardware version of the Softube Summit Audio EQF-100 License Key . While the plug-in is clearly much cheaper than the hardware, is it worth saving the money? We put the plugin to the test to find out. The interface of the Softube Summit Audio EQF-100 looks exactly as you would expect. It doesn’t really deviate much from the rack-mounted EQ look, and you’ll even see reflected light off the VU meter covers. That’s good news for those used to the EQ, as they will be able to quickly and easily navigate through the interface to get the sound they want. Each of the four equalizer bands offers a choice of seven center frequencies, with the first band dropping down to 33Hz and the fourth down to 15kHz.
That may not be as low or high as some would like, but it should offer a lot for most circumstances. Each band also has a switch that allows you to switch between a cut or a boost, a bandwidth knob labeled between 1 and 10, and a gain knob labeled in the same way. It is important to note that, at least with the gain knob, the changes between 1 and 10 are not linear; that is, the change between 9 and 10 seems to be much more than the change between 1 and 2. You ‘As always, you will want to use your ears in your mix rather than the numbers on the screen. In addition to the controls for each band, you’ll also get a gain knob and a high- and low-pass filter, each of which offers three frequency options.Overall, the Softube Summit Audio EQF-100 Serial Key is a very sounding equalizer. gentle . It is particularly known for its warm sounding low end. However, you won’t be using this EQ as an ultra-accurate tool, nor is it the best for adding a lot of presence. It’s better as a sculpting tool than a surgical tool, and if you buy it as an equalizer to be precise, you might be disappointed. However, that’s not necessarily a bad thing – different EQs serve different purposes, and the purpose of this one is for sculpting. We found it sounded particularly good on a voice, but it could really be used on anything – it’s very flexible.
